Recognise that the onus for your well-being solely falls on you. Well-being relates to your mind, soul and body being in sync, that is, gathering your fragmented pieces of self into a harmonious whole; and nobody can do that for you. Only you, through giving yourself the necessary focused self-care can bring about this alignment. Self-care involves taking proper care of your emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual health. Know that everything begins and ends with you. When you quieten your mind, you will hear your soul’s whispering encouragements to be all you can be using your intuition as a conduit to channel the necessary guidance to you. This requires you to incorporate self-care practices into your daily routine that will allow you to Reassess, Refocus, Realign, Readjust and Reaffirm yourself on a continuous basis. Think of self-care as insurance for your overall well-being, protecting your happiness by ensuring you never lose your sense of joie-de-vivre

Doing things that makes you sparkle with joy seems easy but most of us loath to indulge in these simple activities, viewing it as unnecessary and a waste of time. However, it is precisely these activities that nurtures your entire being and is unequivocally good for you. Things like playing games with others, rolling on the grass, playing with your pet, socializing with friends, taking naps, daydreaming, praying and eating healthy all helps in maintaining your sense of wellbeing.

These self-care practices I have outlined are easy to incorporate into your life ensuring you experience life as a never-ending source of happiness and excitement.

Meditation practice allows you to tap into your intuitive self and strengthens your connection to all that is. It elevates your capacity to experience deep feelings of well-being, optimism, self-acceptance and compassion for yourself and others. Self-care allows you to maintain your delight in life and is not dependent on your financial position. Self-care is self-reliant, meaning you take care of you. When you realize that you alone are responsible for the quality of your life; that is the beginning of wisdom.

Mindfulness practice imbues you with a heightened sense of awareness of self and your surrounds. It allows you to become more peaceful and accepting in nature. It also facilitates your ability to tap into your authentic self by harvesting your intuitive abilities thereby enhancing your soul connection. This connection with your authentic self allows you to tap into the flow of life as your inner wisdom becomes more readily available to you.

Tapping into your creativity is another popular self-care practice. Unleash your creativity, dabble in the arts by singing, dancing, painting or writing. Enjoy the process, ignore sabotaging thoughts of being not deemed good enough. Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder so do not let others opinion rob you of indulging your creativity in whatever manner you want. You are solely creating for your enjoyment. If others like it too, it is a bonus. These activities will enhance your ability to approach life with childlike wonder and delight.

Another way to selfcare is to immerse yourself in nature in whatever capacity leaves you brimming with vitality and fosters an inner sense of calm. You feel an affinity with all things, great and small and simply delight in the wonder of life. Spending time in nature also allows you to enjoy a deep restorative sleep, that no sleeping pill can mimic.

The yearning to connect with your divine nature is innate and a trait that all humans share in varying capacities. Creating a sacred space in your dwelling will invite you to nurture your spirit and work as a reminder to take time to be still and go inwards to commune with the Divine.

Do not limit yourself to a fishbowl existence but jump into the wide expanse of life by deliberately delving into other cultures and experiences outside your normal scope of life. Be curious about everything. This curiosity will serve to expand your horizons and elevate your connection to others as well as stimulate your core essence. Life offers us a smorgasbord of experiences, so feasting on all that life offers will infuse your very being with the pulsing, throbbing essence of life, keeping you interested and interesting.

Use these self-care habits and try to incorporate it into your lifestyle as it will restore you to yourself and invigorate you, allowing you to live life with passionate zeal.

I hope the following quotes will inspire you into prioritizing self-care practices into your daily routine.
