Finding motivation after failure

There is no denying it. When the universe decides to reveal the hard truths of your circumstances, it is synonymous to a rude awakening. It rips away the facades of falsehoods that you hide behind, unwilling and unable to face the harsh realities, the truths of your life.  The universe is forced to give you a reality check because of your obstinate refusal to be brave and deal with the truths of your circumstances. Letting go what no longer serves you should be a priority for you, in order to usher in new possibilities for your life. Pull your head out of the proverbial sand and stop labouring under falsehoods.

Yes, it is true, no one is as blind as someone that does not want to see. We all are guilty of doing this at some point in our lives. We seem to possess an uncanny, innate knowing, which is, you cannot unsee what you have seen. This explains our reticence in facing our truths. We stubbornly cling to our illusions, not wanting to see the truth of a situation. We hope by not acknowledging the truth of our circumstances, that it will somehow magically dissipate. In other words, rather than finding a way to deal with an uncomfortable situation you choose to ignore it in its entirety. Acceptance of ‘what is’ allows you to deal with it and move on to bigger and better things. Instead of being stuck in a no-win situation, holding on with a death grip to what you feel should be. The universe is apt to give you a reality check when you stubbornly cling to illusions of what should be instead of accepting what is. Only you can release yourself from situations that negate you and do not serve your highest good.

Keep in mind that not making a choice is also a choice. Only then can you progress having gained knowledge because you accepted the reality of the situation. Once you become unstuck, you can recommence living your life fully again. This new energy will allow you to embrace new possibilities. The key is to accept the reality and do the necessary to improve your situation for your highest good.

The universe does not want to see us suffer needlessly and create situations that force us to choose. Sadly, most of the times we do not choose what is for our highest good. Instead, we tend to choose what benefits others to the detriment of our own wellbeing. You cannot change your past but if you make a concerted effort to understand it, you can grow from it. Learn to ask yourself the question, “What did I learn from this situation?”. Taking responsibility for your actions does not entail beating yourself senseless with a big stick, relentlessly in perpetuity. Take heed not to indulge in regret but rather take action. See what actions you can take in the here and now, that will impact the present situation fortuitously.

Here are a few motivational quotes to get you back on the right track:

mindfulness quote Remember, when you forgive, you heal. And when you let go, you grow. Anonymous

Remember, when you forgive, you heal. And when you let go, you grow - Anonymous

Yes, you cannot release the trauma unless you forgive the offender and yourself, only then can true healing commence. Letting go requires you to feel compassion towards yourself as well as the offender, which is indicative of spiritual growth. This allows you to move forward, no longer stuck in the negative loop of anger and hurt, but free to finally close that chapter and start a brand-new one.

mindfulness quote The happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything. Anonymous

The happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything - Anonymous

Happiness is a choice, an attitude. It is a quality that people who knows that their happiness is inherent and not dependant on anything outside themselves, possess. It is this attitude that helps them to feel satisfied with whatever meagre possessions they have as they know their true wealth lies in their connections with others and the experiences these connections bring to their lives.

mindfulness quote Know what you're worth, trust your heart, follow your dreams, even if you have to stand alone. Anonymous

Know what you're worth, trust your heart, follow your dreams, even if you have to stand alone - Anonymous

Knowing that your worthiness is innate, not attached to anything outside of yourself, is liberating. Being authentic means being true to yourself, without needing the validation of others. Always follow your intuition and endeavour to realize your dreams in spite of the criticism of others. Do not compromise yourself or conform to other people's expectations, but stay true to your innate nature.

mindfulness quote Not all storms come to disrupt your life. Some come to clear your path. Paulo Coelho

Not all storms come to disrupt your life. Some come to clear your path - Paulo Coelho

Sometimes we need to be released from our unhealthy attachments in order to start afresh. When your life gets disrupted, it can be freeing as you get to start over armed with the lessons of past mistakes.

mindfulness quote Forget the mistake. Remember the lesson. Anonymous

Mistakes are learning opportunities, so stop punishing yourself for the things you got wrong. Instead, reflect on where you erred and then remember to not repeat the same mistake.

mindfulness quote Trust yourself. You’ve survived a lot, and you’ll survive whatever is coming. Robert Tew

Everything you need to cope with this life you already have inside of you. It is just a matter of assessing and trusting your intuition. Not giving up is the attitude that will get you through everything.
